Houston Audubon operates nature-based day camps at Edith Moore Nature Sanctuary focusing on birds, pond ecosystems, and outdoor exploration. Campers engage in nature walks, hands-on science investigations, games, and art projects to develop observation skills and learn about local wildlife.

Young campers explore the diversity of native Texas birds from tiny Carolina Chickadees to majestic Great Horned Owls. By honing observation skills, they become junior ornithologists able to identify local bird species by sight and sound through nature walks, hands-on science investigations, games and art projects.

This hands-on camp investigates creatures that live above and below the pond and demonstrates how water quality impacts the diversity of plants and animals sharing the same habitat. Activities include pond-dipping, nature hikes, games, and art.
